" As always, it was a plus to come for an appointment at Ackerman Cancer Center. The facility itself is lovely and always immaculate. The receptionists are welcoming and were able to allow me to see Dr. Stroud a little early as my wife and I traveled from Venice, Florida for my appointment, nearly 300 miles. Dr. Stroud and I discussed my current health status and plan of care. He answered several of my questions and provided reassurance I'm on the correct path to continued good health. I feel he is an excellent clinician and respect his knowledge. As much as I'd prefer to continue my care at Ackerman Cancer Center, it has become a challenge to do so due to the distance from Venice, Florida. I will plan on continuing my prostate care more closely to home. However, should my status worsen and if ever needed to cancer treatment, I will return to Jacksonville. "

" My appointment on March 4th was for blood work in advance of my appointment on March 8th with Dr. Ackerman. The people at the sign in area were all very friendly, very efficient, and a pleasure to deal with. Though my appointment was for 10:40, the tech who would be drawing blood had me in and out before 10:30. As with the ladies at the front, he was very pleasant and, more importantly to me, extremely proficient. I hate needles and the drawing of blood. I felt almost nothing and he had me done in no time. He then suggested I might want to change my Friday appointment as he was not sure I would get to see Dr. Ackerman at that time. He offered several alternate time slots, none of which would work for me. He then reassured me that given how early on Friday my appointment was scheduled for, there should be no problem with seeing the good doctor. Job very well done. "

" My experience on January 4 was excellent, as always. However, in December of 2022 I was scheduled for a CAT scan and doctor visit on December 7, 2023. When I arrived I was told by the front desk clerk that I was not in the computer and did not have an appointment and absolutely could not be seen that day. She then scheduled me for January 4, 2024. I spoke to Eric on January 4 and he said he should have been called as that test is only three minutes and more than likely he could have fit me in. My suggestion is that you train the front desk personnel to attempt to fit people in, especially when your office made the error. I have the appointment card that I had been given. "

" Ackerman gave my husband great care in 2018-2019 and helped us through his Merkel Cell skin cancer, which is very aggressive. They took great care of him. I lost my husband in 2019, but it wasn’t Merkel Cell. Fast forward to 2023 and I have a basal cell carcinoma on my nose. This is not a bad cancer but needs to be removed. The worse part is emotional and not physical. At the dermatologist, it took five people to hold me down just for a biopsy. That is usually an easy procedure, so why did it freak me out? The basal cell was in the exact location as my husband’s first Merkel Cell … the nose. When my biopsy came back as Basal Cell, the method of removal was a MOHS surgery, but there was NO dermatologist who would do it under general anesthesia. With the biopsy freaking me out so much I knew I couldn’t handle MOHS. As I looked for an answer, I read it could be removed with targeted radiation, not surgical! Dr. Perkins and Jodie gave me peace. I start radiation next week with peace! "

" Showed up in person on 6/23/2023 for consult with Katrina for results of MRI-Breast done at Baptist Hospital Beaches on 6/13/2023. I completely forgot it was suppose to be a telephone consult and not an in-person appointment. I was a little upset because I drove clear across town for the appointment and expressed my frustration to ladies at front desk. The ladies were so sweet and patient with me. They are so precious and I’m so sorry for my behavior. The front desk lady checked with Katrina and she advised they have not yet received any MRI-Breast results. Did reschedule phone appointment with Katrina for Tuesday, 6/27/2023 at 1:20 pm. Katrina to call me then. Again my extreme apologies to all when I got upset and should not have. " Ackerman Cancer Center is clean, easy parking and front desk people are pleasant . The operator of the mammogram was courteous plus my imaging operator did a thorough imaging. She was caring to my problems that one shoulder is frozen and made sure I was comfortable. She then walked me to the reception area and they have the best cookies there so took one on my way out and I was in and out in no time. "
