Dr. Criswell took time to explain the process and the team of people, including the anesthesiologist, were incredibly competent, kind and supportive. The experience from the initial consultation, though surgery and the recovery period exceeded my expectations. " Patty Rossi was the first person I spoke with when I called to schedule an appointment...Every one from that moment on was as nice and accomodating as the one before...My preop nurse, Annie, patient, kind, thorough; also postoperatively; she was so gentle and put me at ease right from the start, removing sutures..The am of surgery, the nurse checking me in so professional and made me feel comfortable...Jessica, so helpful after surgery, dressing me, making sure everything perfect for my discharge; and of course later at 3am, when I needed reassuring, she was the one on call... The PACU nurse, she and Jessica there to remove my dressing next day.
Everyone so reassuring, considerate of feelings and privacy at a time when you are uncomfortable about your appearance ..Loved the continuity of care..

" Dr. Kara Criswell is an excellent plastic surgeon. She successfully performed a keloids excision surgery in an area where I had three previous failed surgeries. She knew without hesitation that I needed a series of radiation sessions, with the first session about one hour after she operated on me, to ensure that the keloids did not come back. More importantly, the neuropathic pain that I lived with for five years, because the keloids trapped my nerves, completely disappeared.
I highly recommend Dr. Kara Criswell, not only because she is a highly skilled plastic surgeon, but also because she is thoughtful, poised, well-mannered, considerate, and highly competent. My family and I thank her for the relief that I been enjoying from my strong neuropathic pain of many years.

" My only confusion was regarding the one-week follow up appointment. It was scheduled as virtual and I wasn’t really given clear direction how it would work. I received a text confirming the appointment time, but it didn’t indicate whether it was virtual or in person. I called and was told a nurse would call me. I just needed more clear communication about what to expect beforehand. When I called in for clarification, the staff was helpful, and my phone call appointment was fine. I just think it would have eased my mind to have known this is what to expect. "

" I was surprised at the end when asked if I wanted to leave a tip for my attending provider. I was so taken aback by this. How many people go see their doctor and tip their nurses? It’s unheard of. It actually makes me question the general morals of the facility not to mention the Hippocratic oath these medical professionals have all sworn by. Do you tip your doctor when you go see him/her for a checkup? No, insurance takes care of that. There is nothing extraneous aside from what insurance doesn’t cover. It seemed very tacky and just completely unethical. "

" I understand that COVID has bought in some challenges but nearly every one of my appointments was rescheduled and without consulting me. I would have to call up and ask why my confirmation email/text was saying a different time as originally scheduled. For most of my appointments I am on time or early and I have sat in the waiting room for up to 45 mins at one point. Everything else is great, the doctor was great but the scheduling can be a bit annoying and time wasting for people. "
