" The office is very calm and soothing, the staff are very courteous and efficient. Prior to Dr. Hartman, I had been seen by multiple dermatologists and they were not successful in resolving the issue at hand. Dr. Hartman helped me resolve the issue. He is, by far, the most thorough and knowledgeable doctor I have ever encountered. Dr. Hartman is respectful, takes his time, explains what is happening, why it is happening and his recommendations for treatment. He clearly explains the treatment plan and ensures you understand and have asked all of your questions. He remembers prior conversations that are not necessary linked to your current issue; in his care you feel like a person and not just a body with a problem to be resolved. "

" I had a whole body scan, including my hair to the bottom of my feet. Having grown up without sunscreen in the Summer, I'm paying the price of "getting a tan." I've had multiple skin surgeries for skin cancer (basil and squamous) with different doctors. Dr. Hartman educates me and helps me have a better skin with his advice about its proper care. He keeps up with all the new procedures and findings and uses liquid nitrogen accurately on areas that heal with normal skin appearance. Family members also see Dr. Hartman for skin issues, and have had good experiences. "

" My only issue was the long amount of time between the date I set my appointment and the date I was able to see Dr Hartman. Maybe reducing your total patient load could help, maybe not taking on new patient might help. 4 months is a very long time to wait. "

" I was very upset with the receptionist when I arrived promptly at my appointment time. The day before I confirmed my appointment by email. I was told my appointment had been canceled! I said I hadn’t canceled but had confirmed, which I showed her! She said she was sorry but I would have to reschedule! I was very upset and said I had traveled 40 minutes to get there and I did want to reschedule! She then said ( not at all in a friendly manner) that she would try to fit me but wasn’t sure how long I would have to wait! But she wasn’t sure how long I would have to wait. I said fine and waited. She did get me in within a half an hour and then I waited for Dr. Hartman for another half an hour. I was there a little over one hour. I have been a patient of Dr. Hartman for over 25 years and my entire family goes to him as well! We adore and trust Dr. Hartman but I wasn’t treated like a valued patient! "

I thought I would see the Dr right after I put my clothes on and have a 1 min conference with him to sum things up, but he had already moved on to the next patient. So I left the office with more questions than answers. All that was needed was another minute to summarize the next steps. With modern medicing every single second is accounted for, and they squeeze in as many patients as humanly possible. I waited in the lobby for around 10 minutes for him to finish his next patient to ask him some quick questions for 30 seconds and got what I needed, but why did it have to be this rushed? I'd give him a 10 out of 10 for everything, but a little more time for summarization is needed, such as the doctor asking, any more questions, before he exits. "

" During my lifetime, owing to a history of facial basil and squamous cell carcinomas, I've been to near a dozen dermatologists: none come close to Dr. Hartman. I doubt he needs my raving review but I wanted to offer it out of respect for him and for any prospective patients. When you see Dr. Hartman, be prepared for an intelligent explanation of whatever condition you have as well as for the treatment he'll be recommending; I've not known a doctor with greater understanding of his field and generosity in sharing it with his patients. He's also forward looking, anticipating impediments to the health of your skin and offering suggestions. If something needs to be done, he does it, without making a big deal out of it. "Oh, that's a ... let me just take that off now." Dermatology might be the most complex area of medicine and you need a doctor capable of thinking with innovation and he definitely is in that category. Plus, you never feel rushed or that you're in a medical mill. "

" Only issue I have and many also have, is we all know Dr. Hartman is THE best skin disease doctor around. Bar none. BUT... I wait a long time to get in to see him and I have more than one issue that needs to be looked at and treated. The doc is always a in a mad rush and begins backing out the door before I’m finished. It causes a rushed feeling. I’m not trying to waste his time talking. That i would completely understand. It would be greatly appreciated by me and his other patients if he would simply ask “is there anything else I need to look at” before he backs out the door. I almost always end up home thinking, “Ah man. He never treated these other issues. Now I will have to wait a month or more to see him again!” He’s the only MD who has found a drug that has actually worked in keeping my HS in check. For that, I’m so grateful. If he would just work on making sure the patient has no more questions and issues per appointment that would be amazing. "

He sure didn't surprise me this time again either as I had what looked like a red pimple on the skin but couldn't break open and was hard. He succinctly briefs you during his differntial diagnosis, and treatment protocol, so you know his process and that it’s sound. I guesstimate his initial treatments are effective 99% of the time. 1% of the time I need a 2nd visit and the problem is resolved. So I keep going back. He’s in high demand, his office is always busy. Im very glad when the office people are able to squeeze me in for an appointment. the office staff is very professional and nice. my only criticism is the appointment system- Sometimes, like this last time they were able to squeeze me in But other times Its hard to get someone on the phone so I often have to leave a message to make an appt,. Because skin conditions can be intermittent. 48 hours is a long time to wait to get a call back. But other than that small complaint Dr Hartman and his staff are tops. "

Anytime a medication is prepared by a compounding pharmacy it is not covered by my insurance. There is usually a coupon for some but the net cost is still high. Same with emergency visits; no one answers the phone. Only medical office where I have experienced that no one answers the doctor's phones. You have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back. Moreover, a couple of times, no one called me back. So, I had to call and leave another message. I find it hard to believe that this office or any doctor's office is so busy that the doctor's phones cannot be answered by the staff in a reasonable amount of time. Once you're in the office everything is fine. Trying to make, cancel or reschedule an appointment to see the doctor is a nightmare. "

Also, the phone message says that the office will return a phone call within 48 hours, and I get the fact that Dr. Hartman is very busy and sees many patients, but sometimes a week or more has gone by and no one returns my phone call. When I call back, I again feel like I am burdening them. My family and I have been coming to Dr. Hartman for years, and we love him. He is the best. But, when you feel the attitude of his office staff coming through the phone, like you are bothering them, it is offensive to me as a person.. "

He explains everything, gives you an education,diagnose problems and treat conditions so quickly with the knowledge he has in this field. " I am a big fan of Dr. Hartman. I think he is professional, informative and administers excellent care. That said, I had to wait 45 minutes in the waiting room and another 15 minutes in the exam room to see him for 10 minutes. If the doctor is running late (which I understand completely) the office must notify patients either before they arrive or minimally when they arrive of the situation. Not saying anything is unacceptable and frankly, rude. My time is as valuable as anyone else's; this is simply basic manners and common courtesy. Whomever is running the office needs to review patient arrival procedures so that patients are informed and can make plans accordingly. "
